Q&A
Q: What is Tweetsville?
A: Tweetsville is an iPhone application for Twitter.
Q: I deleted a tweet from my main timeline on the Twitter website, but it still shows in Tweetsville.
A: In order to try to be nice to the Twitter servers, we only get new Tweets since the most recent one in the Timeline view on your device. If you deleted a message before that, it will unfortunately still show up until it eventually falls off the timeline. If you really want it to go away, you can clear your local cache in Settings. Just tap "Clear Cache" there.
Q: Why can’t I delete any direct messages?!
A: Due to an omission in the Twitter API, it’s impossible to delete direct messages you’ve sent. Until that is fixed (and we have filed a bug), you’ll need to delete messages from the web site.
Q: I posted something, and later it disappeared in Tweetsville, but it shows on the Twitter site. Where did it go?
A: If it’s showing on the web site, then it’s most likely the Twitter API is sending us cached data instead of fresh data. Because we treat the feed from Twitter as the ‘truth’, we think your message/tweet was deleted and remove it. Once the API starts giving us fresh data though, it should show up again.
Q: Why isn’t the design all black? All the cool kids are doing it!
A: One of the main goals for this application was that it fit into the native iPhone look and feel.

Twemes
About Twemes.com
Twemes.com follows Twitter.com tweets (messages) that have embedded tags that start with a # character. These are sometimes called hashtags but we like to use the term twemes.
Through the use of twemes, we can all view what people are talking about across the whole Twitter universe. In some sense, this can be thought of as an adhoc chatroom. We also pull in recent public photos from Flickr and public bookmarks from Del.icio.us.
Twemes.com is particularly useful for keeping up on the real-time activities associated with a live event such as a conference. People who attend an event can choose an obvious tag (i.e., sxsw for South by Southwest) and use this tag as #sxsw in tweets, sxsw in uploaded Flickr photos and Del.icio.us links.
Following @twemes can improve the reliability of our service capturing your messages.
See the help page for more detailed usage instruction for including twemes in your tweets!

With groups and discussions, TweetWorks helps you get the most out of Twitter.
How it works…
Welcome to Tweetworks
Tweetworks is designed to make micro-blogging more useful for people and businesses. Tweetworks is based on the simple premise that people like to talk about stuff with other people. And it is the stuff (ideas, questions, politics, sports, arts and so on) that brings people together and around which they form community.
Using Tweetworks is Easy
Step 1: Log in Using Your Twitter Info
Use your Twitter username and password to authenticate your Tweetworks session. Don’t have a Twitter username or password? Get one
Step 2: Start Talking
Public Tweets
Would you like talk about the big news story of the day or get peoples thoughts for a new blog post? Maybe you just need to vent about some crazy thing that happened at work. Well post your thoughts to the public time line and let the conversation begin.
Groups
Do you have favorite conversation topics? Start or join a group and connect with others who share your enthusiasm. Hint: Click on the "# members" link in a group to see who’s there.
Private Groups
Would you like to set up a private group for work or your fantasy sports league? Simply check the "Hide group’s posts from public timeline" box when creating a group.
Note: Users with free accounts may create one private group and participate in up to three private groups. A premium account with unlimited private group access will be released in the near future.
But wait! There’s more…
These Tweets Are Threaded
No more clicking through an endless procession of "in reply to" links, no need for hashtags or writing queries on a search tool to get the whole conversation. On Tweetworks, tweets stay together where they belong.
When you enter a post on Tweetworks you will be given the option of passing the post on to Twitter. Should your tweet be passed to Twitter it will be appended with a URL linking it to its Tweetworks thread.
Note: Public tweets default "yes" and private group tweets default "no" for posting to Twitter.
You, Group, Public
There are three tabs on Tweetworks:
- You — This is where you can find all the conversations you have participated in over the last 24, 48, or 72 hours.
- Group — This is where you’ll see the conversations that have taken place within your groups (public & private) over the last 24, 48 or 72 hours.
- Public — Here you can see all the public conversations happening on Tweetworks over the last 24, 48, or 72 hours.
Bingo! Or Not So Much
Crowd sourcing is one of the hidden gems of Tweetworks. Ask a public question and anyone or everyone can offer an answer. Awesome! Okay, maybe not all will be awesome. Give props where they are due by clicking the "BINGO!" star next to a great response. Or if you feel you need to, delete an inappropriate response.
Tell People About This Group on Twitter
If you would like to invite your Twitter followers to join you in a Tweetworks group simply click the link on the group’s sidebar.
Shrink URLs
A major limitation of the 140 characters per post convention is that sharing links can be tough. Use the "Shrink URLs" feature inside the post box to reduce the size of one or multiple links in a tweet.
