Twitterlocal Meets Google Maps
Twitterlocal Meets Google Maps is a mashup app that lets you enter a City, State or a Zip and see those tweets displayed on a Google Map. Not much more information beyond that is provided on the site, but it works as advertised.
Slandr
Another way to get to Twitter on your mobile phone: m.slandr.net. Their tagline is "mobile.twittah!" Links give you access to replies, directs, search, users, public timeline, friends timeline (home), and even "geo," which seems to be taking advantage of the new Twitter API function that allows you to update your location.
YouTwit
The Twitter service YouTwit is another app that puts Twitter updates on a Google Map. To use the service, you enter in a Twitter ID and you’ll then see the location of those updates on the map. Locations appear to be determined by the place the person said when they registered instead of being real-time geo-positioned updates.
TwittEarth
Like TwitterVision is to Google Maps, TwittEarth is to Google Earth. In other words, way better. This mashup shows tweets around a spinning globe. Pure eye candy.
GeoTwitterous
A Yahoo Pipes mashup, GeoTwitterous is similar to another map mashup, Twittervision. Whereas Twittervision plots tweets on a map, GeoTwitterous lets you search by username and then display that user’s tweets and those of their friends on a map. You can also check a box to have it attempt to place individual tweets to see which folks are roaming around.
TwitterVision and TwitterVision3d
Both TwitterVision and TwitterVision3d are mashups, the former with Google Maps and the latter with a spinning globe, but both provide a real-time view of world-wide tweets.
MyTweetMap
MyTweetMap is a new services that maps out where your Twitter friends are in respect to each other or a geographic landmark. To use MyTweetMap, just enter in your Twitter username and password and your Twitter friends will display on a Google Map, which refreshes once per minute. You can also use MyTweetMap to update your Twitter status.
