Twitt’d
Twitt’d is an application that lets you send and receive updates from your favorite instant messaging program whether that’s Windows Live Messenger, Jabber/Gtalk, Yahoo! Messenger, or Skype. To use Twitt’d, just add the Twitt’d bot (see list below) to your buddy list and say hi. You’ll be asked for your Twitter username and password.

Yahoo Twitter Sync is a Yahoo! Messenger plugin that lets you Twitter directly from your Yahoo IM. The plugin keeps you YIM status and Twitter status in sync and when you change your YIM status, it automatically updates Twitter. You can also see your friends’ tweets right in your Messenger window.
Twitter Psm Pusher
Twitter Psm Pusher is an extension for Windows Live Messenger that send your personal status from Messenger to Twitter. To configure it, enter "/twitterconfig" into a chat window, then enter your username and password in the window that comes up.When you modify your Messenger status, it will be sent to Twitter automatically. You can also use the command "/twitter <your new status>" to update your status

Twit4Live is a Windows Live Messenger plugin that lets you update your Twitter status as save your Twitter friends into your contact manager. This is similar to TwitterPlus, except that it allows for the saving of contacts, too.
TwitterPlus
TwitterPlus is an extension for Windows Live Messenger that lets you update your Twitter status directly from your IM window. To configure it, you type "/twitterconfig" into your chat window and enter in your Twitter username and password. To send out a tweet, you use the command “/twitter <your new status>â€
TwitterIM
TwitterIM is a tool that lets you send Twitter updates through MSN or ICQ. To use TwitterIM, you just add msn@twittermsn (or TwitterIM) to your contact list and you’re all set! TwitterIM will automatically shorten your links to TinyURLs and you can use TwitterIM even when Twitter itself is down - your tweets will post when Twitter comes backs up. With TwitterIM, you can also exceed the 140-character limit. You can email in tweets, too.
