This site has some nice Twitter icons available for a free download. These glossy Twitter icons are created from scratch using Photoshop. The zipped pack contains 256×256, 128×128, 80×80, 64×64, 48×48, 32×32, 24×24, 16×16 (approx. dimensions) PNG images which you can use on your website, blog, etc. provided you stick to the terms of use specified within the pack.
TwitterTreats
TwitterTreats is a website offering Twitter backgrounds and icons available for downloading. They ask that you please credit TwitterTreats if you use any of their items on your Twitter profile. (Where I wonder? Space is limited!)
TwitterBash
TwitterBash is an app that lets you post your favorite tweets to a database where others can rate them by popularity. You can also embed tweets that you like in an HTML or Javascript snippet.
Too Much Tweet
Too Much Tweet is a Twitter app that helps you collect your noisest, TMI tweets that no one really cares to read. To use Too Much Tweet, send your tweets to @too_much. For total voyeurism into people’s inanely tweeted lives, you can follow @too_much to see the posts. It might amuse you.
Twitter Scavenger Hunt
What a great use of Twitter! At this year’s BlogHer convention, Twitter was used by HP to run a Twitter-powered scavenger hunt. Users signed up at the HP booth and then followed @HP_BlogHer2008 for the clues. Winners received HP prizes including a brand-new HP laptop.
Twitter Backgrounds
There’s a trend going on where people are creating custom backgrounds for Twitter that also serve as extended profiles (you can see one in action here). Instead of going through the ordeal of having to create your own background, a few sites are offering downloadable backgrounds you can customize and edit in Adobe Photoshop or another similar type of software application. Here are some sites offering free Twitter backgrounds:

z0rK
z0rk is an old-school adventure game played on Twitter – the kind where you type in “enter forest,†“open door,†etc. to play. To play z0rk, you need to follow the Twitter user z0rk.
To start to play, follow these instructions:
- To send z0rk commands, use direct messages like "d z0rk look" or "d z0rk read leaflet". HINT HINT
- To turn off score alerts, type "off z0rk" or go to the z0rk Twitter page and click on "Device updates ON". You will still be able to send and receive direct messages to play.
- Some basic commands can be found here. All these need to be sent via direct messages- "d z0rk [command]".
Here are some other commands:
- look - "d z0rk look" - Look around to get a description of your current location.
- take [object] - "take egg" - HINT HINT Take an object and put it in your inventory.
- enter [portal] - "enter door" - Enter a new location through a door or window.
- n,s,e,w - "north" or "n" - Move in a specific direction to the next location.
Twitterlit
Twitterlit is a site that serves up literary teasers twice a day. At 5:00 AM and 5:00PM Eastern Time they post the first line of a book without the author’s name or book title, but with a link to Amazon so readers can see what book the line is from. Note that the site is an Amazon affiliate, so purchases you make will earn them commissions.

TwitterFountain
TwitterFountain is a Twitter/flickr mashup that lets you see both the tweets and the images that share the same tag. You can take the resulting mashup display and embed it onto your website.
