Witty
Alan Le of Vertigo designed a WPF Twitter client called Witty to bring Twitter onto the Windows Vista desktop using the Windows Presentation Foundation built into Vista and the Twitter API. Like any desktop client, you can receive updates from your friends and update your status, too. The app can also dock into the system tray. You can download Witty from here.
Twittories
Twittories are 140 word short stories. A group effort to to create fiction, each story teller tweets a part of the story until the whole thing is complete with 140 entries. I wonder if there will actually be any stories of quality created?
Twittpoll
twittpoll.com is the opinion channel of twitter. By following Twitter user @twittpoll you get the newest polls from twittpoll.com. You can vote on a poll for 24 hours. After that you will receive the overall result within your twitter account. The results are also available on the twittpoll website.
Tweetgift
Tweetgift is a simple way to show a little appreciation to a friend and all you need is a Twitter account. Just reply to @tweetgift and use their syntax to send gifts to your friends. Every gift starts with @tweetgift, then a friend’s username, and the gift with an optional message. Here are the tweetgifts you can send now:
#Hashtags
Hashtags are a community-driven convention for adding additional context and metadata to your tweets. They’re like tags on Flickr, only added inline to your post. You create a hashtag simply by prefixing a word with a hash symbol: #hashtag. Hashtags were developed as a means to create "groupings" on Twitter, without having to change the basic service. To use hashtags, add @hashtags as a Twitter contact and then precede any tag you want to use with the hashmark (#) character.
Here are some examples of hashtags:
# Events or conferences: i.e.: "Tara’s presentation on communities was great! #barcampblock"
# Disasters: "#sandiegofire A shelter has opened up downtown for fire refugees."
# Memes: "My #themeword for 2008 is conduct."
# Context: "I can’t believe anyone would design software like this! #microsoftoffice"
# Recall: "Buy some toilet paper. #todo"

TwitterMail is a service that will provide you with a private email address like abcdef1234@twittermail.com. If you send an email to that address, the body of the email will be posted to Twitter.com. If friends reply to your post on twitter (by using @username), you’ll be sent an email to your email address, but this can be turned off if desired. The service automatically shortens long URLs to TinyURLs and lets you post more than Twitter usual 140-character limit. Longer posts will end with a "Read More" link. You can also schedule future tweets to make it seem like you are never offline! If Twitter goes down, TwitterMail will still publish your Tweet as soon as Twitter comes back up.
Tweeterboard
Tweeterboard is a list of the top 100 most influential users on Twitter. From the site, you can look up any of the top 2600 or so users and see who they talk to and how much influence they have in the ecosystem. Their reputation is based on reputation points which are determined by an algorithm that measures the conversations you’ve had over the last 28 days.
Twitter Scan
Tweet Scan is a real-time search engine for Twitter posts. You can use the search box on the Tweet Scan homepage which, by default, searches all tweets. You can change this to have it search through tweets for a particular user. Tweet Scan can also do your searches automatically and email them to you. Now you can check every day who’s twittering about what (maybe they’re twittering about you!).
