Tweetl for Short URLs
The URL-shortening service from Tweetl cuts down long URLs for tweeting. Tweetl also has some other features that make it more fun than the usual shortening service. With Tweetl Preview, for example, you can preview a Tweetl URL by typing preview.tweetl.com/[id]. Tweetl Stats lets you get detailed info for any Tweetl URL. And much more! Tweetl also lets you add a description after the Tweetl link by first adding a "?" then your text.

Twitter Timer
You can use Twitter timer to have Twitter remind you of things you need to do. Timer is a Twitter bot that lets you set an alarm by using Twitter’s direct message feature. To use Twitter timer, add timer as your friend, then send a direct message to timer (see below). Timer will then tweet you back when the number of minutes you specified has passed. The minimum number of minutes you can enter is 5 minutes.
If you’re sending a direct message via SMS/Twitterific, use the format below (if you’re using Twitter’s direct message interface, you can leave off the "d timer").
d timer [# of minutes until reminder] [your message]
Example: d timer 60 check parking meter (will remind you to drop a quarter in 60 minutes)
